Introduction

Recent advancements in artificial intelligence have significantly transformed the fields of image processing and computer vision. As traditional techniques give way to more intelligent, data-driven methods, it is essential to explore how this progression shapes research and application across domains. The integration of deep learning, transformers, and generative AI into visual analysis has not only enhanced performance but also broadened the scope of computer vision. There is a growing need for a comprehensive resource that bridges classical image processing with modern AI-based techniques. This edited volume seeks original research addressing this transition and its impact across diverse real-world applications.

Objective

This book will aim to provide relevant theoretical foundations and the latest empirical insights into the evolution of image processing into modern computer vision. It will be written for professionals, researchers, and students seeking a comprehensive understanding of classical techniques and their transformation through deep learning, transformers, and generative models. By bridging foundational concepts with advanced vision systems and real-world applications, this book will serve as a timely and valuable reference that supports innovation and informed practice across academia, research, and industry.

Target Audience

The primary audience for this publication includes graduate students, researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals in computer vision, image processing, artificial intelligence, and related fields. Additionally, instructors teaching advanced undergraduate or graduate-level courses in image processing, machine learning, and computer vision will find this book a valuable teaching resource, thanks to its structured content, practical examples, and comprehensive coverage of foundational and advanced topics.
