Journal Models

In order to ensure maximum reach and impact, all IGI Global Scientific Publishing scholarly journals are exclusively open access (OA). IGI Global Scientific Publishing has two OA publication models available:
Gold OA
The Gold OA publication model is used for journals that publish only OA content, however, do not have outside funding to cover the article processing charges (APCs) for authors of accepted work.
These journals are accompanied by an APC that the author or a funding body will be expected to pay following the double-blind peer review process, should their work be accepted. (Note: Authors of rejected articles will not be expected to pay an APC).
Platinum OA
The Platinum OA publication model is used for journals that publish only OA content and have received outside funding (from one or more sources) to cover the article processing charges for authors of accepted work.
Because the journal already has OA funding secured, authors who are accepted to be published in Platinum OA Journals are not expected to pay an APC and thus can publish their work as OA for free.
IGI Global Scientific Publishing provides interested funding organizations with the ability to combine their budgets together to provide formal funding to a formerly established Gold OA Journal to convert it to Platinum OA.

Becoming a Journal Reviewer

Individuals appointed as journal reviewers are performing an important and valuable job, assuring that an article manuscript is being published with integrity and accuracy. Serving as a reviewer is a key step and significant contributing factor in an individual’s academic career progression.
