Ayse Topal was born in Turkey in 1983. She received the B.S. degree in business administration from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2006, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated Ph.D.) degree in energy planning and policy from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, in 2015. She is currently an Assistant Professor with Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, Turkey. Her research interests are decision making, renewable energy, sustainability, and energy planning. From 2015 to 2019, she supervised and completed one Masters by Research thesis, currently supervising three Masters by Research thesis, published several articles and conference papers, and teaching several courses at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees. The awards she received are UTS International Research Scholarship (IRS), YLSY—International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (Turkish Ministry of Education), Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Educational Award.
