Kayleen Cabrera

Kayleen Cabrera is an aspiring therapist from Bronx, NY, and graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2023 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Art Therapy. She has worked with groups such as those with developmental disabilities, the elderly, and teenagers. Additionally, having worked at Duke University and The Student Leadership Network, providing services and information to families and adolescents in crisis intervention, the offset of underage pregnancies, and college readiness. Witnessing the benefits and healing factors that mental health services provide to numerous demographics has become the driving force behind her passion in Psychology. She has been recognized with various leadership awards, including being inducted into the Psi Chi Honors Society. She was a spokesperson for one of the largest national conferences in North America; the National Student Leadership Diversity Convention, where she discussed the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion on college campuses in the U.S. As a first generational college graduate, Cabrera is pursuing a masters degree in social work and public health. She is preparing to give back to underserved communities like the one she grew up in. Her focus on advocating for those in need aids her in working with marginalized groups and others alike.
