Matej Zapušek

Matej Zapušek is a teaching assistant of Computer Science in Education and a member of the Chair for computer science didactics at the Faculty of Education, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He holds a Ph.D. in the field of Teacher Education and Educational Sciences in Computer Science and Education. In his Ph.D. he was focusing on formal representations of knowledge, knowledge domains with the use of ontologies. Among other topics his research work is in studying the use of educational games in the learning process, as well as leveraging the teaching method of game design-based learning within the various pedagogical contexts. He has published peer-revied scientific papers, book chapters and international conference proceedings on the topic of using educational computer games for teaching computer-related subjects and acquiring digital competencies for future teachers. Additionally, he has participated in many international projects, where he examined various aspects of using games and gamification in education.
