Nicole G. DeRonck

Nicole G. DeRonck is an Associate Professor in the Counselor Education Program at Western Connecticut State University. Dr. DeRonck earned her Ph.D in Counselor Education from the University of Connecticut, and her Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University. She has extensive experience working in the counseling field both as a clinician working with adolescents struggling with addiction, and as a school counselor. Her experience as a counselor inspired her to move into an educational leadership role to impact policy and improve access to education and services for kids in her state. She enjoys researching and writing on the topics of college and career readiness, access, and equity in education in underserved populations, and school counseling program development and evaluation.
