Research Methodology

The work is based on qualitative research methods which are considered one of the most applicable research methods in social science. Since is an important evidence-based resource for informed decision-making and implementation, enabling us to conduct research independently. Particularly following research methods are used in the chapter:

  • -

    the method of analysis – the opposite method of synthesis, decomposition of the whole into parts. The analysis gives an analytical method – mental decomposition, the separation of the whole into parts. It is closely related to abstraction – a mental distraction from secondary features and qualities of an object to highlight its essential ones;

  • -

    deduction method - is a method which is considered the method which starts from the general and goes to the specific, which allows seeing the general background of the problem, and highlighting that issue better. Also, it is named as a method of thinking, the result of which is a logical conclusion, the truth of which is guaranteed by the truth of the premises. A logical-methodological procedure can be defined, through the transition from the general to the private in the reasoning process is carried out;

  • -

    the method of observation, which is the collection of primary social information about the object of study through direct perception and direct registration of all facts related to the object of study, is significant from the point of view of the goals of the study;

  • -

    descriptive method - a certain type of scientific method applied mostly in social sciences and represents a system of procedures for collecting, primary analysis, and presentation of data and their features.

Literature Review

Due to the urgency of the topic, both state and non-state actors, private individuals, media, and others are interested in the study of migration processes. Accordingly, the literature surrounding the issue is quite diverse. The statistical data, periodicals-articles, reports, and others provided us with significant help in studying the problem. Thus the works of both Georgian and Western scientists were used in the paper. For instance, Steven J. Gold, and Stephanie J. Nawyn. Routledge International Handbook of Migration Studies. This work represents the second, updated edition, which allows us to see the complexity of international migration processes. The paper focuses on the main social, political, economic, and cultural factors of the origin of migration. As a result of the growth of migration processes, problems arise both in the issuing states and in the receiving states. Studies and relevant theories relating to refugees and internally displaced persons are presented.
