Alessandro Ferrazza

Alessandro Ferrazza is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager at Sunderland University in London, specialising in Business Strategy, Strategic Leadership, and International Human Resource Management for postgraduate students. Graduating from West London University in 1986, Alessandro holds an L7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from Bromley College HE (2015) and an MBA with distinction (2017) under the tutelage of Dr Thorben Hanel-Muhs. A seasoned professional in the hospitality industry, Alessandro has held senior roles globally, including Food and Beverage Director and Front of House Director. Noteworthy positions include managing hospitality services for Union Bank of Switzerland in Switzerland and serving on the board of Directors for Princess Pallavicini in Rome. Transitioning to academia in 2019, Alessandro focuses on preparing diverse and motivated students. He has addressed industry challenges, from pay issues to professional pathways, through research and proposed solutions. Notably, in 2021, he co-authored a chapter on technology acceptance during the Covid-19 pandemic. Alessandro's achievements include winning the University's "Most Digitally Innovative Teacher" award in 2022 and embarking on a Ph.D. research project in 2022. The research centres on change management in employee motivation, particularly focusing on ethnic minorities in the UK's Contract Catering sector. In 2023, Alessandro co-authored two publications and presented preliminary research findings at the Educational Symposium in London and the Researchers Annual Conference in Sunderland.
