Tamio Shimizu

Tamio Shimizu earned his BS degree in Mathematics from University of São Paulo. He holds a M.Sc. from Aeronautical Institute of Technology, São José dos Campos and a Ph.D in Production Engineering from Polytechnic School of University of São Paulo. His research interests are Information Technology, Intelligent Manufacturing Systems and Decision Support Systems. During the past several years he was Professor in the Aeronautical Institute of Technology, São José dos Campos and Professor and the Head of the Department of Production Engineering, Polytechnic School - University of São Paulo, until 2003. He belonged to the board of Executive Director of Fundação Carlos Alberto Vanzolini. He was an IBM fellow at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Union College in the USA. He participated in a research exchange program between Brazilian and German governments. He was a visiting fellow of University of Tokio sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency. Currently, he is a Full Professor of the Department of Production Engineering, Polytechnic School - University of São Paulo.
