Editor/Author Biographies

Katarzyna Antosz, Ph.D., Ds.C., Eng., Associate Professor, since 2002 has been working at Rzeszow University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, Department of Manufacturing and Production Engineering and is a member of the Lean Learning Academy Polska. She is a specialist in the field of improving and increasing the efficiency of production in organizations, using the methods and tools of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, and the reliability and operation of machines and maintenance services in enterprises. Author of many publications in this fields.

José Carlos Sá is MSc in Industrial Engineering and Bachelor Degree in Production Engineering, both by University of Minho, Portugal. In 2015 he awarded the title of Specialist in Quality Management, by Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, Portugal. He was director of quality and continuous improvement, director of production, and was also a consultant for several companies over 20 years. Currently, he is Adjunct Professor and Lean Six Sigma Post-graduation Coordinator on the School of Engineering, Polytechnic of Porto (Portugal). He taught in Higher Education since 2005. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Technological Sustainability Journal (Emerald) and member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Applied Research on Industrial Engineering. He is also a member of Review Board of International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (MDPI). He has more than 60 papers (WOS+SCOPUS) published.
Małgorzata Jasiulewicz-Kaczmarek, Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng., Associate Professor at the Faculty of Management Engineering at the Poznań University of Technology. Her research interests include the issues of maintenance management of technical systems, sustainable manufacturing, and Industry 4.0. She is a member of the Polish Society for Production Management and the Commission for Digital Modeling of Exploitation of the Polish Scientific and Technical Society for Exploitation.
José Machado concluded Habilitation title in February 2019 at University of Minho, Portugal. He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering – Automation, from University of Minho, Portugal and, in simultaneous, from Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, France, in 2006. He is Deputy Director of MEtRICs Research Center and Assistant Professor at Mechanical Engineering department of University of Minho. He has authored, or co-authored, more than 220 refereed journal and conference proceedings papers. He coordinates and has coordinated - and participated as collaborator - in several Research and Technology Transfer Projects on Mechatronics and Automation domains. His main interests are related with Industry 4.0, more specifically, on the design and development of Cyber-Physical Systems; design and analysis of dependable controllers for obtaining dependable mechatronic systems; and mechatronic systems design with special focus on medical or biomedical applications, wellbeing and/or rehabilitation. He is member of IEEE and member of IFAC.
