The issues expressed in this book hit home to me as a medical student. As medical students, whether pre-pa, med student, premedical student, or otherwise, we are under extreme duress to perform well. I know many students in my classes who are more focused on the outcome of their next exam rather than how well they know the content of an exam. This is one major issue that schools need to be addressing. Additionally, many of these students suffer severe burnout and do not pay proper attention to their mental or physical health. Peter Aloka is a senior lecturer at Wits school of Education, University of the Witwatersrand South Africa. He holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of the Western Cape. He has published over 50 articles and supervised several masters and PhD students in the area of Educational Psychology.
