Author(s)/Editor(s) Biography

Vangelis Marinakis is an Electrical and Computer Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens and holds a PhD in the research domain of decision support systems for sustainable local/regional energy planning. His experience and knowledge cover the fields of energy and environmental/climate policy, design and development of related multiple-criteria decision support systems, promotion of energy efficiency/renewable energy technologies and modern financing mechanisms, energy management in buildings (ISO 50001, etc.), design and development of innovative systems and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for Smart Cities, elaboration of sustainable energy and climate action plans, and energy corporate responsibility of enterprises. Dr. Marinakis has participated as energy expert in European (Horizon 2020, FP7, IEE, etc.) and national projects, including among others OPTIMUS, ESCOCITY, eReNet, BETTER and EU-GCC CLEAN ENERGY NETWORK. He has more than 40 scientific publications in international journals and book chapters, as well as numerous announcements in national and international conferences.
