Submit a Paper to the International Journal of Plant Biology and Biotechnology (IJPBB)

Published Continuous Volume. Est. 2024.
The International Journal of Plant Biology and Biotechnology will serve as a major international, peer-reviewed journal that provides a dedicated platform for the publication of high-quality original research articles, critical reviews, and short-communications from emerging and established researchers with much interest in cellular biology, biochemistry, developmental biology, biodiversity conservation, ecology, molecular biology, physiology, morphology, systematic biology, and biotechnology. The main goal of the journal is to publish groundbreaking and exciting, high quality novel research that addresses fundamental questions in plant biology, stress physiology and biotechnology. All published research will provide insights into the growth and development of plants, productivity, stress responses and yield, particularly, of food and feed crops, propagation of medicinal and horticultural plants under favorable and unfavorable environmental conditions. Studies that report findings of the effects of various abiotic and biotic stress constraints on growth and development, productivity, use of botanical extract products, biological/ chemical priming for growth and yield improvement, hydroponics and genetic breeding will be prioritized. All areas of plant biology, physiology and biotechnology are welcomed, including plant tissue and cell culture-based genetic improvement technologies as well as field experiments that can be wide-ranging and interdisciplinary. Of particular importance, the journal encourages contributions on current, trending, and advanced technologies involving plant and crop physiology, breeding, and biotechnology within the African continent and other developing regions, especially for the advancement of knowledge, agricultural sector improvement, economic development, and to promote food security in these regions where unemployment, poverty and diseases remain catastrophic.

The Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Plant Biology and Biotechnology (IJPBB) would like to invite you to consider submitting a manuscript for inclusion in this scholarly journal. The following describes the mission, the coverage, and the guidelines for submission to IJPBB.

Mission

The International Journal of Plant Biology and Biotechnology will serve as an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality original research articles, critical reviews, and short-communications on all key areas of plant biology, stress physiology and biotechnology. Papers reporting novel findings on plant stress physiology, genetic improvement, morpho-anatomical analyses, plant taxonomy/systematics, plant conservation and diversity, phytomedicine and phytoremediation will also be considered. This journal aims to publish original research that contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge, technology, and innovation in developing countries, fostering social inclusion, economic development, and transformation imperatives in the agricultural sector. The Journal will publish original works, serving as a dedicated research dissemination platform for international emerging, as well as established researchers with strong demonstrated passion on plant physiology and biotechnology.

Submission

Prospective authors should note that only original and previously unpublished article manuscripts will be considered. Interested authors must consult the Journal Guidelines for Manuscript Submission at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/journal-guidelines-for-submission/?titleid=337972 PRIOR to submission. Any further questions may be answered at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/. All article manuscript submissions will be forwarded to at least three members of the editorial review board of the journal for a double-blind peer review. The final decision regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews received from the reviewers.

This journal operates under full Gold Open Access meaning its published contents are 100% open access and the copyright of the published work will stay with the author(s) ((Note: IGI Global open access journal article manuscript publishing offers authors the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licensing arrangement. The copyright for the work remains solely with the author(s) of the article manuscript), and the publisher will provide the published contents free of charge globally (there will no longer be subscription fees or payment of any kind required for individuals and libraries to access and utilize the published contents).

Gold Open Access journals are heavily reliant on Open Access Article Processing Charges (APCs) payment provided by either the author(s) or his/her/their respective institution or another funding agency, AFTER the article manuscript submission has been through a full double-blind peer review and the Editor-in-Chief at his/her full discretion has decided to accept the manuscript based on the results of the double-blind peer review process. The APC will offset the costs of all of the activities associated with the publication of the article manuscript, including the digital tools used to support the manuscript management and review process, the typesetting, formatting and layout, online hosting, the submission of the journal’s content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes, third party software (plagiarism checks), editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, communications with authors and reviewers, as well as all promotional support and activities which includes metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the journal and its published contents; and the fact that all published articles will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by the authors.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for this journal is currently set at $2,300 USD and authors will not be asked to provide payment of the APC fee (directly to the publisher) until AFTER their manuscript has gone through the full double-blind peer review process and the Editor-in-Chief at his/her full discretion has decided to accept the manuscript based on the results of the double-blind peer review process. Please note that there is absolutely NO correlation between the APC (Article Processing Charge) being paid by the author and the results of review process outcomes.

For more information on APCs and Open Access Publishing please visit IGI Global’s open access publishing page here. Researchers who are uncertain where to find funding for OA processing charges can visit IGI Global's Open Access Funding Resources Page. It is recommended to read the following article published by Web of Science, “A researcher’s complete guide to open access papers”.
