IGI Global's Transformative Read and Publish Model
Open Access Padlock
Providing Sustainable Open Access (OA) Funding to Your Institution

Turn your university library’s InfoSci-Database acquisition into a source of open access (OA) funding through IGI Global’s OA Fee Waiver (Read and Publish) Initiative!

How Does the Process Work?

Setting Up the Open Access Article Processing Charge (APC) Fund:

  • When a library subscribes to or perpetually purchases IGI Global’s InfoSci®-Databases including InfoSci-Books (5,300+ e-books), InfoSci-Journals (185+ e-journals), and/or their discipline/subject-focused subsets, IGI Global will match the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the open access APCs for their patrons (faculty, students, and researchers).

Submitting a Paper Under Open Access:

  • When a student, faculty, or staff member submits a paper and it is accepted (following the peer review) into one of IGI Global’s 185+ scholarly journals, the author will have the option to have their paper published under a traditional publishing model or as OA.
  • When the author chooses to have their paper published under OA, IGI Global will notify them of the OA Fee Waiver (Read and Publish) Initiative. If the author decides they would like to take advantage of this initiative, IGI Global will deduct the US$ 2,000 APC from the created fund.
  • Every article submitted to IGI Global journals under OA receives the same rigorous high-quality review process and production as our non-open access journal articles.

Renewal of Funds:

  • When a library subscribes to or perpetually purchases IGI Global’s InfoSci®-Databases including InfoSci-Books (5,300+ e-books), InfoSci-Journals (185+ e-journals), and/or their discipline/subject-focused subsets, IGI Global will match the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the open access APCs for their patrons (faculty, students, and researchers).
