What is Information Value

Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology, Third Edition
The value attributed to information produced or acquired by organizations, entities and persons, and delivered in the form of an information product or service. Information has no implicit value in itself since it depends on its use, purpose and context. Its value is related to the results that it will allow obtaining and it’s dependable on its context.
