Abstract
Modern societies prioritize sustainability, emphasizing the importance of intergenerational care and education to encourage recycling habits and social responsibility. To raise awareness of recycling and environmental sustainability, the Eco Tetris game was developed to enhance the learning process. This game builds upon the well-known Tetris game by incorporating card collecting mechanics and real-world integration through geo-referencing, beacons, and augmented reality experiences. The aim is to raise awareness and make players more mindful of their environmental decisions and habits, with a focus on the older generation. Eco Tetris aims to transmit knowledge on recycling and its importance, challenging players to sort garbage into the correct recycling bin. This mechanic reinforces recycling habits by mentally associating items with their corresponding colors. The game promotes ecological responsibility, encouraging players to consider their role in the recycling process.
