Description

The International Journal of Information System Modeling and Design (IJISMD) publishes original research on the advances of modeling methods in system analysis and design. IJISMD promotes enterprise modeling which is bridging the communication gap among business managers and system designers. This journal examines the theoretical foundations of new generation graphical design methods, models, and tools to facilitate reasoning on compositions of systems and services across organizational and technical system boundaries.

Mission

The mission of the International Journal of Information System Modeling and Design (IJISMD) is to provide an international forum for modeling experts and design professionals for exchanging innovative ideas. IJISMD enables presentation of original work in the development of models for business alignment with computerized services in order to make both organizational and technical systems more effective. It especially focuses on semantic integrity between business processes and data, as well as on new methods for identification of semantic inconsistency, incompleteness, redundancy, and ambiguity of information system specifications. Targeting researchers, practitioners, and academicians, this journal promotes innovative findings in emerging disciplines of informatics on enterprise system modeling, design, integration, and evolution.

Reviews and Testimonials

"Working much out there for both public and private organizations, I have seen a huge lack of architectural thinking. Modeling and design of enterprise architectures should be a natural part of the IT business maturity process. As soon as new methodologies, technologies, or software tools emerge, organizations tend to abandon their best practices that have been developed in the past and then start all over again. It is time for business managers and information systems designers to be true professionals. I really welcome this initiative on establishing the new International Journal on Information System Modeling and Design. It will facilitate improvement of the IT organizations maturity. Models and methods for designing enterprise architectures is a key success factor to any organization today."

- Per Björkegren, Sogeti Sweden, CTO and Enterprise Architecture Practice Leader
