Marcella Smith

Marcella Smith , PhD, MSW, is an Associate Professor and Department Chair for the School of Social Work at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Dr. Smith’s research focuses on minority and adolescent health, health disparities, immigration issues, social work education, and program evaluation. She has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals and presented her research at State (National Association of Social Workers), National (Council on Social Work Education (CSWE); Society for Social Work Research (SSWR)), and International conferences (International Conference on Social Work in Health and Mental Health). She also served as a Reviewer for several journals and conferences. Dr. Smith earned her (PhD) and (MSW) from the University of Texas at Arlington and a BS in Management and Administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.
