IGI Global Scientific Publishing

Who We Are

IGI Global Scientific Publishing is a pioneer of state-of-the-art research publishing innovations for the advancement of science and the support of international knowledge.

Our Story

In 1988, a professor at the Pennsylvania State University wanted to start a new academic journal. He knew his field was advancing rapidly, and that the information would be critical for his colleagues to keep up with the changes. The professor submitted his proposal to one of the major academic publishers that have been around numerous years.

After his proposal was accepted, he learned that the first article was scheduled to be released in two years. With a topic that was advancing so quickly, this timeline would surely devalue his work, as it would age out of usefulness before becoming available.

He was inspired to decline the journal offer and start his own publishing company with the one journal. His goal was to produce a research publication that was thoroughly vetted, professionally edited, and released while the information was still relevant.

We continue this tradition of expedient publishing through proprietary technologies and systems that emphasize the importance of quality peer review in every publication. Our dedication to peer review is evident in each publication’s timeline, as 80% of the time is dedicated to the review process.

This is how we continue our legacy of Publishing Tomorrow’s Research Today.

Partnerships

We partner with key organizations and brands to encourage quality and accessibility in research, publishing, and community collaboration.

Research Partnerships

Tekscan®

Dr. Robert Kerstein, editor of the Handbook of Research on Computerized Occlusal Analysis Technology Applications in Dental Medicine (2 Volumes), was able to associate his forward-thinking research with Tekscan®, the creators of the patented T-Scan technology outlined within his research. He connected the leaders of Tekscan® with our Marketing Team to help create a powerful partnership.

The organizations collaborated on integrating the Handbook into dental programs around the United States, showcased the publication at conferences, created a specialized digital campaign, and more. This led to an increase in the visibility and citation impact of the publication, the creation of new research partnerships and opportunities for the contributors, as well as increased creditability for the research and T-Scan technology. View Dr. Kerstein’s latest research in the Handbook of Research on Computerized Occlusal Analysis Technology Applications in Dental Medicine (3 Volumes), which was released in July 2019.

For IGI Global Scientific Publishing Editors and Authors: As the majority of the research that IGI Global Scientific Publishing publishes is focused on applied research, if you believe that your publication would be of benefit to an organization or corporation that currently utilized patent technologies, methodologies, or advanced finding within your publication, please contact IGI Global Scientific Publishing, as we are highly qualified to collaborate with these individuals. Sustainability Statement

IGI Global Scientific Publishing understands the impact that practicing responsible business can have on the environment, marketplace, and community. It maintains a sustainable, transparent business by utilizing the following practices:

We Offer Electronic Format

To reduce the amount of waste generated daily, IGI Global Scientific Publishing is a strong advocate and early adopter of the electronic format. Each title published is offered in electronic format and can be purchased individually.

IGI Global Scientific Publishing is also a leader of the print-to-electronic conversion movement and partners with libraries in order to convert their print IGI Global Scientific Publishing titles to their electronic counterparts. This procedure not only frees space within the library, but also ensures that moving forward, the library is set up for an easy purchase experience of more electronic resources. IGI Global Scientific Publishing continues to identify programs like this one that make converting to electronic copies easy, affordable, and efficient.

Print On Demand Model

Due to the amount of waste created from printing that is based on anticipated demand, IGI Global Scientific Publishing utilizes the Print On Demand (POD) model. This model allows titles to be printed upon request in response to actual demand from a customer, thereby eliminating the need to stock high volumes of product within a warehouse.

We Publish in Life Sciences

IGI Global Scientific Publishing publishes forward-thinking research within the fields of Environmental, Agricultural, and Physical Sciences to enable the successful stabilization of the environment and its inhabitants. By disseminating the newest technologies, breakthroughs, discoveries, and theories researched by experts looking to improve and sustain the environment, IGI Global Scientific Publishing helps provide solutions that address key issues such as climate change, pollution, and natural resource depletion.
