Tudorel Andrei
is a Romanian economist and statistician specializing in statistics, econometrics, and quantitative methods for socio-economic analysis. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), one of the leading institutions for economic education and research in Romania. In addition to his academic role, he serves as President of the National Institute of Statistics, the central authority responsible for the production and coordination of official statistics in Romania. Professor Andrei has been involved in academic teaching and research since the early 1990s and obtained the rank of full professor in 2003. Throughout his academic career, he has taught courses in statistics, econometrics, and applied quantitative analysis at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, and has supervised numerous doctoral theses in economic statistics and related fields. His research focuses on applied statistics, econometric modeling, survey methodology, and the quantitative analysis of socio-economic processes. He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications.
