Abstract
This study analizes the contributions of medieval and Renaissance civic humanism to Political Science (with special attention to the theory of good government) and how current they can be effectively today; how useful they can be today. The analysis focuses on the contribution of Francesc Eiximenis´s Regiment de la cosa pública [‘Government of the public'] as part of his Dotzè del Crestià. We make a brief anthology of fragments (in the original version and in translation into Spanish to make it more accessible to a wider audience, especially, if possible, active politicians) that include advice and teachings that can show how useful Francesc Eiximenis' conceptual proposal can be today.
