Abstract
This study explores the pervasive issue of violence against incarcerated women, emphasizing the urgent need for comprehensive safeguards within correctional facilities. Women in prisons face unique vulnerabilities, including physical, sexual, and psychological abuse by staff and fellow inmates. The research highlights systemic failures, lack of gender-responsive policies, and inadequate oversight that exacerbate these risks. It advocates for trauma-informed care, improved monitoring, and stronger legal protections to uphold the dignity and rights of incarcerated women. By addressing these challenges, the study aims to promote safer environments, restore justice, and support the rehabilitation and well-being of women behind bars.
