Abstract
This paper explores the dynamic relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and the climate crisis, highlighting both opportunities and challenges. It outlines the current state of global climate instability and AI's rapid expansion, emphasizing collaboration gaps between these fields. Analyzing recent UN climate conferences, it shows AI's dual role as both a contributor to environmental impacts and a potential driver of climate action. The authors focus on AI's potential to counter climate denial among youth through large language models, interactive media, and storytelling. They also discuss the transformative potential of large-scale AI initiatives, such as Manhattan Project–style efforts and integrating AI into disaster preparedness. The paper concludes by calling for ethically guided, interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure AI's deployment supports a just and resilient climate future.
