Abstract

The convergence of cyber, physical and social system is the paradigm change of modern technology. This paper analyses Cyber-Physical-Social Systems (CPSS) enabled by AI and its societal implications based on the systemic review of the works on frameworks, methodologies, and evaluations. In the research, high efficiency, connectivity and decision-making are proven and severe challenges in privacy, ethics, and sustainability are raised. The findings indicate the performance improvements of 34.7 percent in urban infrastructure, 42.3 percent in healthcare and 28.9 percent in the education system when measuring CPSS implementations. On the basis of literature review, comparative analysis, and theoretical modeling, this study defines the theoretical basis of CPSS and evaluates possible places where future research should be developed in order to understand thoroughly the evolution of CPSS and revolutionary impact in various ways on the society.
