Abstract

The chapter explores the evolution of library management system from rigid software development life cycle-based models to flexible systems enhanced by machine learning and Generative AI. Traditional models provide structure but lack adaptability; Machine learning systems personalize based on past data but can't respond in real time. GenAI transforms LMS by instantly tailoring responses, offering dynamic suggestions, and aligning with individual user needs. The study compares traditional, ML, and GenAI-driven LMS models across user engagement, content recommendation, flexibility, customization, automation, and feedback. GenAI-powered LMS outperform others by delivering personalized, immediate support, boosting user retention, enhancing study guidance, and turning the LMS into an interactive, accessible assistant for diverse users.
