Abstract

The aim of this paper is to revalue the Spanish writer Elena Quiroga, who received some recognition in her literary beginnings, winning prizes such as the Nadal, allowing her to insert herself into the narrative panorama of the 1950s. However, her figure was forgotten in Spain after her death. This writer stands out for her constant willingness to experiment in her narrative forms, which leads us to speak of a personal narrative universe. The great richness and variety of her work is the main reason why she deserves critical attention. For this reason, after studying the historical and literary panorama in which Elena Quiroga is situated, a corpus of three works has been selected, two short novels and a novel, to illustrate the evolution of her work by comparing them. These works are Trayecto uno, Plácida, la joven and Tristura.
