Abstract

This chapter is about bullying towards students with special needs in inclusive educational settings. By examining the various forms of bullying that these students may encounter, including physical aggression, verbal abuse, social exclusion, cyber harassment, mistreatment by teachers and staff, and the intersectionality of discrimination, this segment aims to illuminate the complexities and challenges faced by this vulnerable population. The chapter also explores the prevalence, impact, and contributing factors of bullying, emphasizing the urgent need for targeted interventions and prevention strategies. By fostering a deeper understanding of the dynamics of bullying towards students with special needs, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders can work collaboratively to create safe, inclusive environments where every student is valued, respected, and supported in their academic and social development. This chapter underscores the importance of addressing bullying in inclusive educational settings as a critical step towards promoting empathy, inclusivity, and equity for all students with special needs.
