Abstract
This chapter examines the vital roles of emotional intelligence (EI) and psychological resilience in online learning environments. As digital education becomes widespread, learners encounter emotional and cognitive challenges unique to virtual settings. The chapter explores digital expressions of EI self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and relationship management and how online platforms reshape emotional dynamics and social connection. Resilience is discussed as a multidimensional construct involving adaptability, emotional regulation, and persistence. Their interconnection enhances engagement, performance, and well-being. The chapter also addresses the role of institutions in fostering emotionally supportive learning through thoughtful design, instructor training, and ethical use of technologies such as AI. It calls for holistic, research-based strategies that promote both academic success and emotional development in digital education.
