IGI Global Awards the 2012 InfoSci®-Journals Distinguished Fellowship to Professor Ned Kock

International Journal of e-Collaboration (IJeC)Hershey, PA – December 13, 2012– IGI Global, an international publishing company specializing in high-quality research publications in the fields of computer science and information technology management, is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2012 InfoSci®-Journals Distinguished Fellowship: Professor Ned Kock, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of e-Collaboration (IJeC). The InfoSci®-Journals Distinguished Fellowship is an annual initiative to recognize an editor-in-chief for enriching the information science community through the dissemination of innovative research and excellent leadership in journal compilation.

In order to qualify for this honor, an editor-in-chief must exhibit a record of success in raising citation, visibility, and scholarship of their journal. They must also secure an adequate quantity of submissions from leading authors and publish each journal issue on a timely basis. In addition, the fellowship honors exceptional work in gaining recognition of the journal in top indices.

Established in 2005, the mission of the International Journal of e-Collaboration is to publish papers that address the design and implementation of e-collaboration technologies, assess the behavioral impacts of these technologies on individuals and groups, and present theoretical considerations on links between the use of e-collaboration technologies and behavioral patterns. This journal emphasizes technologies that include Web-based chat tools, Web-based asynchronous conferencing tools, e-mail, listservs, collaborative writing tools, group decision support systems, teleconferencing suites, workflow automation systems, and document management technologies. IJeC has been referenced in major indices such as SCOPUS, Cabell’s Directories, PsycINFO and more.

Professor Ned Kock, founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of e-Collaboration, is a professor of Information Systems and the Director of the Collaborative for International Technology Studies in the Sanchez School of Business at Texas A&M International University. He holds degrees in electronics engineering, computer science, and management information systems. Professor Kock has authored and edited several books, including the bestselling Systems Analysis and Design Fundamentals: A Business Process Redesign Approach. He has also edited several IGI Global titles, such as Business Process Improvement Through E-Collaboration: Knowledge Sharing Through the Use of Virtual Groups and the multi-volume E-Collaboration in Modern Organizations: Initiating and Managing Distributed Projects. Professor Kock has published his research in a number of high-impact journals including Communications of the ACM, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, IEEE Transactions (various), Information & Management, Information Systems Journal, Journal of the AIS, MIS Quarterly and Organization Science. He is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Systems and Information Technology and Associate Editor for Information Systems of the Journal IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication.
