Abstract
This chapter discusses the construction of knowledge as an innovative approach to traditional teaching. This topic is treated via the presentation of a project about lawfulness that was realized in the Calabria region during the 2010/2011 school year. The study aims to identify within the project central elements that enable students to progress from the mere acquisition of information to a transformation of knowledge, where through applying the teaching, in a constructivist approach to learning, they are able to articulate it in their own language and not that of the teacher as in broadcasted learning environments typical of past generations. The main project-related aspects are investigated, and the role of situated learning and experiential learning is discussed. The changing role of the teacher and the increasing need to understand artifacts, such as tools and signs, are explored.

Engagement, Publishing, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: Reconsidering the Reconsidered
There are two fundamentally different ways of understanding teaching. The first sees teaching as an instructor-centered activity in which knowledge is transmitted from someone who has acquired that knowledge to novice learners: teaching as knowledge transmission. The second sees teaching as a learner-centered activity in which the instructor ensures that learning is made possible for novice learners and supports, guides, and encourages them in their active and independent creation of new knowledge: teaching as assisted knowledge creation .

Translanguaging and Codeswitching in a Multicultural Classroom: Experiences of University of Namibia Lecturers
Teaching is a process where systematic methods are used to transmit knowledge into someone. Teachers employ methods to enable students to learn effectively. Effective teaching enhances academic performance. This teaching should be inclusive of all learning styles to ensure that no student should be left out. It should also be social where knowledge and skills can be constructed within a social context. In the context of this chapter, the process of code-switching and translanguaging are used to ensure effective transfer of knowledge is given to the students. This is done by speakers of two or more languages, when a speaker switches back and forth intentionally or unintentionally.
