FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hershey, PA – October 22, 2013 – IGI Global, an international publishing company specializing in high-quality research publications , is pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Bird, from Florida Atlantic University's College of Education, and Dr. Eric Wanner, from Gold Coast Physical Therapy Associates, LLC, received a national honor for their writing.

Bridget Horvath, founder of the Life Coach Institute of Orange County, California requested to use an excerpt from Dr. Bird and Dr. Wanner's recently published book chapter, "Multigenre Narratives as a Healing Process", in the training manual for the institute. This training manual will be used in seminars across the country to train hundreds of wellness coaches and other practitioners interested in innovating methods of helping people.

The chapter, originally published in the Handbook of Research on Teaching and Learning in K-20 Education (edited by Dr. Victor Wang of Florida Atlantic University), discusses how journal writing can lead to physical healing. Dr. Bird, Dr. Wanner, and Dr. Claudia Jayne Brahler from the University of Dayton discovered in their research that patients who use positive language in short answer writing responses demonstrated greater healing gains on existing physical therapy measurements. They plan to continue investigating this topic and finding additional groundbreaking discoveries for health education and patient care.

Released in June, the Handbook of Research on Teaching and Learning in K-20 Education provides well-rounded research in providing teaching and learning theories that can be applied to both adults and children while acknowledging the difference between both. This book serves as a comprehensive collection of expertise, research, skill, and experiences which will be useful to educators, scholars, and practitioners in the K-12 education, higher education, and adult education fields. This title is also part of the Advances in Educational Marketing, Administration, and Leadership (AEMAL) book series, which strives to assist professionals, administrators, and others involved in the education sector in making leadership, administrative, and marketing decisions.

Despite increasing acceptance and legalization of cannabis in some US states, disparities persist in federal marijuana laws, exacerbated by the Biden administration's classification of cannabis as a Schedule I drug. This inconsistency leads to unfair penalties in the criminal justice system, where individuals in legal states can still face federal prosecution.
