Amber Tiffany Abnet Reid

Amber T.A. Reid , a Trenton, New Jersey native serves as a professor at Morehouse College and a 2023-2025 ACLS Leading Edge Fellow. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College, a Master of Arts degree from Argosy University Atlanta, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Clark Atlanta University. Prior to her work in academia, she served as a mental health professional serving Black and LGBT young adult populations. Dr. Reid is passionate about the study and application of cultural heritage and folkloric practices for the promotion of individual and collective wellness. She is committed to researching, creating, and advocating for wellness services that contribute to the visibility and elevation of Black individuals and communities. Her projects and interests include Black wellness, Black Arts, Dance and movement within the African Diaspora, Black youth development, African development, and the collection of oral histories in marginalized communities.
