André Catarino

André Paulo Catarino received his graduation in electrical and computers engineering in 1992, at the University of Porto's Faculty of Engineering (FEUP). He started to work at Textile Engineering Department in the University of Minho (UM) in 1994 up to the present days where he is assistant professor. He received his MSc in 1998 and PhD in 2005 by the Scholl of Engineering (EEUM), both in the textile engineering and technology areas. He is a associate researcher of the Center of Textile Science and Technology (2C2T). Until now his specific interests lie on knitting technology and processes, Surface design and 3D knit, interactive textiles, textile based sensors, especially applied on health and sports. On the last years expanded his interests on digital business, design and marketing.
