Andrea P. Beam

Andrea Beam believes that learning is a life-long endeavor and is ever changing. She has 29 years of experience in the field and has worked in both the public and Christian setting. Dr. Beam began her career as a teacher’s assistant working with students with disabilities before moving into teaching, and later administration. She worked in Virginia Beach Public Schools for 13 years, while the remaining time has been in higher education. She currently serves as the Chair of Elementary education at the University of Lynchburg. Dr. Beam has been recognized as a finalist for Assistant Principal of the Year at the secondary level, and named in Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women Principals in Education, Who’s Who of Women in Education, and Who’s Who among American Professionals. She was honored to win the first place Chancellor’s Award for Teaching in Excellence for graduate education at Liberty University. She is currently involved in various research activities, publications, and presentations surrounding the topics of special education, best practices, and school law. Her energy, integrity, and passion for leading tomorrow’s teachers is evident in her daily practice.
