Aparna Arora

Aparna Arora is an experienced development practitioner specializing in finance and, gender & public policy. In the past decade, she has worked with multilateral agencies, nonprofits, and the private sector in India and the US at organizations such as UNICEF, Upaya Social Ventures, Net Impact New York, and McKinsey & Company. Most recently, Aparna advised early-stage social enterprises and nonprofits focused on poverty alleviation, skilling & livelihoods, and water and sanitation in areas of organizational strategy, financial management, fundraising, and board development. Currently, she serves on the Secretariat of the Society of Gender Professionals (SGP), a leading global network of gender practitioners, academics & activists representing 100+ countries and amplifying feminist expertise & research for gender justice. She also co-leads SGP’s community of practice, Breaking Gender and Sex Binaries Circle. She is a mentor with an NYC-based nonprofit, Girls Write Now, supporting the career development of girls and gender-expansive youth. Aparna holds an MPA in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University, USA.
