Awie C. Leonard
After spending several years in the private sector as programmer/systems analyst; project manager, systems development and maintenance manager, Prof Awie Leonard joined the University of Pretoria in 1992 as senior lecturer. Today he is an associate Professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Apart from lecturing a variety of Information Technology subjects, his research focus is in the broad field of IT Service Management. He obtained undergraduate degrees in computer science and the M.Sc. degree in Information Systems from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He obtained his PhD in Informatics in 1998 from the University of Pretoria. Since 1992 he has delivered several conference papers and published several book chapters and articles related to the field of service management in the IT field. A number of students have also completed their PhD-studies under is leadership.
