C.R. Nirmala

C. R. Nirmala works as professor and head, department of Computer Science and Engineering of BIET, Davangere has got 24 years of teaching experience in teaching, mentoring and guiding the students of UG, PG and research programs of CS & E department. She received her doctorate degree from Visvesvaray Technological University, Belgaum and carried out her research at BIET. She has completed her master’s degree from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surthkal in the year 2001 with first class and specialization in Computer Engineering and B.E in Electronics and Communication from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere in the year 1992 with first class. She started her career at Bharath Electronics Ltd, Bangalore as Trainee Engineer, then joined Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology as a lecturer in the department of E & C from 1995 and in CS and E dept from 2001. Acting as a single point of contact for Infosys Campus Connect, IBM Academic Activities, VMWARE IT Academy and ICT Academy India activities. IBM India Ltd, awarded her with prestigious “Drona” award, for 5 times for mentoring award-winning student projects in the annual national level software development contest- “The Great Mind Challenge” and for showing outstanding performance in the IBM academic initiative Activities in the institute. Infosys has felicitated with certificate of appreciation for outstanding performance in the Infosys campus Connect activities. Wipro Mission 10X team has recognized “Champion Trainer”. And from the institute she obtained the best teacher award for 10 times. Published and presented more than 30 papers in the International Conferences and journals like IEEE transaction, ACM and Other referred journals. 2 research scholars have been awarded with PhD Degrees and 5 research scholars are carrying out research under her guidance. 1 Indian patent has been filed in the area of wireless sensor networks and waiting for publishing. I1 book chapter is published in IGI Press on Wireless Sensor Networks.
