Daniela Vilela Antunes

Daniela Antunes is a researcher dedicated to studying the justice system and defending victims' rights. With a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Minho in Portugal, she has an academic career marked by excellence and has received merit awards in recognition of her outstanding performance. Determined to deepen her knowledge, she obtained a Master's degree in Criminal Sciences, specializing in Criminal Justice. Her Master's dissertation focuses on the theme of "consensus in the Portuguese criminal procedure and the safeguarding of the victim's interests", whose main objectives relate to the problematization the victim's intervention in the Portuguese criminal process, the analyse the origin and political-criminal relevance of the ideal of consensus and the investigation of form how the victim's participation and the safeguarding of their interests are ensured within the framework of the procedural consensus mechanisms. In addition to her academic experience, Antunes has been involved in extracurricular activities related to victim support. Her particular interest in the field of victimology and her commitment to the cause of justice motivated her to complete the Victim Support Technician course, which provided her with the skills and knowledge to provide support and assistance to victims of crime.
