Dr Sandra Vieira Vasconcelos

Sandra Vasconcelos is an Assistant Professor at the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Polytechnic Institute of Porto. She holds a PhD in Multimedia in Education and is an integrated member of the Research Centre “Didactics and Technology in Education of Trainers”. In addition to teaching Technical English and Intercultural Communication to graduate students, she has been involved in research projects within the scope of tourism education, e-learning, b-learning, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), informal learning, interdisciplinary practices and the use of digital technology in education and is currently part of ATLAS’ (Association for Tourism and Leisure Education) SIG on Tourism Education, which aims to provide a platform to research and address transversal challenges in tourism education and training. She is also her School’s representative at the Polytechnic of Porto’s Centre for Pedagogical Innovation and advisor for Distance Education, having an active role in the development and implementation of teacher training workshops that promote innovative methodologies and pedagogies.
