Ethan P. Smith

Ethan P. Smith is an assistant professor of mathematics education at Washington State University Tri-Cities. His research focuses on the relationships between mathematical writing and spoken discourse in high school mathematics, as well as the aligned or divergent perspectives between teachers and their instructional coaches regarding the implementation of ambitious mathematics curriculum materials. He has previously worked as a middle school mathematics teacher and mathematics teacher educator in Mississippi. He has served as a founding member of the Mississippi Mathematics Specialists Network and worked as the Social Media Coordinator for the Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
