Fauziah Shahul Hamid

Fauziah Shahul Hamid obtained her PhD in 2010 in Waste Management, and has been affiliated with University of Malaya since 2007, as the academic staff. Her research among others, covers municipal solid waste management, bioremediation, plastic and marine debris, and microplastics. She has been actively publishing many articles in various aspects of waste management in peer-reviewed journals, as well as, contributing her expertise as reviewers to those prestigious journals. Her publications include three chapters in books on waste management and more than 80 papers. Her current research interest are bioremediation of contaminated soil (heavy metal, persistent organic pollutants, microplastics, etc.), studies on abundance, distribution and patterns of marine debris, conversion of waste to value added products, environmental awareness creation and community engagement on waste management issues.
