G. David Gearhart

G. David Gearhart is Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Arkansas and Professor of Higher Education. Dr. Gearhart currently serves as a tenured professor in the Higher Education Program in the College of Education and Health Professions. He co-founded the National Lab for the Study of the College President. He served as chancellor at the University of Arkansas from 2008 through 2015. In 2017 he received the Black Caucus Lifetime Achievement Award and was named the Outstanding Teacher in the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources, and Communication Disorders, College of Education and Health Professions. In 2019 he was named the College’s outstanding faculty member, received the University Associated Student Government Outstanding Faculty Award, the Outstanding Alumni Award in the College and the Outstanding Alumni Award in the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources and Communication Disorders. He has authored 6 books and numerous academic articles.
