Hisham Younis

Hisham Younis holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering and a PhD in industrial and manufacturing engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan (USA). He is a senior lecturer in optimization systems and operations management at the graduate school of engineering at Wayne State University and Lawrence Technological University. He previously held senior industrial management positions at Ford Motor Company and Visteon as a global leader in process assurance, failure mode effects analysis, and lean engineering initiatives. Younis has consulted with numerous energy companies and technical manufacturing organizations and provided advanced algorithms to solve large scale optimization problems across several disciplines. His research interests includes linear optimization using block pivoting for fast convergence, global programming of quadratic functions, and scale parameters of the Weibull distribution using linear regression models. He is an active committee member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (U.S. Tag 13) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEC TC 56 and IEC Z1) with voting authority to release reliability and maintainability industry standards.
