Joana A. Quintela

Joana Quintela holds a PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro. She has held various positions in the Hotel Industry in Portugal and abroad and worked as Programme Coordinator, Consultant and Professional Trainer in Tourism and Hotel Management in Portugal and abroad. Currently she is an Assistant Professor at the Portucalense University and an integrated member of the research unit REMIT - Research in Economics, Management and Information Technologies. She also collaborates in GOVCOPP - Competitiveness, Governance and Public Policy, at the University of Aveiro. She participated in several national and international conferences, published scientific articles in journals, book chapters and opinion articles. She is a member of the editorial and scientific boards of various national academic journals. Her research areas focus on health and wellness tourism, with emphasis on marketing, sustainability, happiness and quality of life.
