Josephine Oranga

Josephine Oranga (PhD) teaches Special Needs Education at Kisii University, Kenya. She holds a doctorate in Special Needs Education from Southwest University, PRC and M.ED and B.ED degrees from Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi, respectively. She has participated in various international and national research projects concerned with the education of both learners with and without special educational needs. She has authored several scholarly articles in different refereed journals on diverse educational issues affecting both learners with and without disabilities. She is the co-author of Chapter 2 (Action Research in Education in the Context of the Competency-Based Curriculum in Kenya) and author of Chapter 11 (Portfolio as a Tool for Lifelong Learning in the Context of the Competency-Based Curriculum in Kenya), all in the book ‘Competency-Based Curriculum: A Handbook for Teacher Education’ which she also co-edited. Additionally, she co-authored Chapter 10 (Researching in Times of Crisis: Insights and Reflections) in the book ‘Researching with Marginalised Communities in Kenya: Issues, Experiences and Reflections.
