Katie MacDonald Sprute

Katie Sprute is Faculty Chair and Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Grand Canyon University. As a Faculty Chair Katie leads a team of talented and effective faculty. Katie identifies with a servant leadership style and aims to ensure the members of her team are structurally empowered and feel a strong sense of community. Katie is passionate about advocating for and fostering positive relationships among all GCU full-time and adjunct faculty. She has presented at National conferences and published articles on effective teaching practices, use of video feedback, humor in the classroom, and strategies to support online adjunct faculty. Katie is ABD in her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. The focus of her dissertation is The Predictive Relationship of Structural Empowerment on the Job Embeddedness Across Generations of Online Faculty Teaching in Institutions of Higher Education.
