Li-Chia Chen

Li-Chia Chen is a pharmacist trained in pharmacy practice research, specialising in evidence-based medicine, drug utilisation, pharmacoepidemiology, and health economics. She has a progressing and balanced professional and academic profile and an insightful scope of international teaching and research of pharmacy in higher education institutes. Dr Chen received foundation pharmacy qualification in Taiwan and trained in a prestigious Master Programme for clinical pharmacy, and soon escalated her career from a clinical pharmacist to Director of Pharmacy in hospitals. Sponsored by Taiwan Ministry of Education, she completed a PhD programme at the University of Manchester and then a post-doctoral research in the U.K., when she acquired expertise in the systematic review, meta-analysis, economic modelling and qualitative research. Thereafter, Dr Chen taught at a postgraduate programme in Taiwan as an Assistant Professor for all subjects of her expertise, and she also established skills in secondary healthcare database analysis. She took a lectureship at the University of Nottingham in 2010 and worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester since 2017.
