Lou L. Sabina

Lou L. Sabina is an associate professor and director of graduate education programs in the College of Arts and Sciences at Stetson University in sunny DeLand, Florida. Sabina has 22 years of experience in education, with 9 years as a public-school teacher and principal, and 13 years in higher education as educational leadership, early childhood, and business faculty, formerly serving at Oklahoma State University, Point Park University, and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Sabina is affiliate doctoral faculty at the University of Central Florida, serving as a research methodologist and study consultant for doctoral students in both the Educational Leadership and Higher Education programs. Sabina has written two full-length books and has published over 30 articles since transitioning to higher education and has been cited over 100 times in double-blind peer review journals. Sabina’s primary research interests include succession planning (where he has developed frameworks and systems that schools across the United States have successfully used to recruit, retain, and promote school leaders), early childhood education development, higher education administration and supervision, and educational finance. Sabina is the Editor-in-Chief of Voices of Reform, a double-blind peer reviewed journal focusing on educational reform issues both nationally and internationally. Sabina also serves as the Chief Educational Financial Policy consultant for the State of Florida through his work in the National Education Finance Association. In his spare time, Sabina enjoys collecting and playing board games and video games, going to concerts, wine tasting, and visiting amusement and theme parks.
