Marta T. Magiera

Marta T. Magiera is a Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Marquette University. She is interested in the mathematical cognition of doing mathematics and conducts research in both theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics education and mathematics teacher education. Her primary work focuses on the nature of mathematical thinking, teaching, and learning and addresses practicing and pre-service mathematics teachers’ development in the area of mathematical reasoning and proof, problem-solving, and mathematical modeling.
