Miguel Ángel López de la Asunción

Miguel Ángel Lópezde la Asunción (Madrid, 1973) has a degree in English Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), where he also studied Romance Philology and obtained the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude from its Institute of Education Sciences. He is a member of the Spanish Association of Military History (ASEHISMI), historical adviser to the Blas de Lezo Foundation and adviser to the Spanish Federation of History Associations (FEAH) and an Honorary member of the History Association of the Carlos III University and the Association IV Promotion of the Basic General Academy of NCOs of the Spanish Army. He is co-author of the books Los Últimos de Filipinas: Mito y realidad del sitio de Baler (Actas, 2016) and El Sitio de Baler: La heroica gesta de los Últimos de Filipinas (Actas, 2022), as well as a multitude of articles. In 2020, he was awarded the accreditation diploma at the Ejército Magazine Awards for his article «Claves para la exitosa defensa de la posición de Baler». Likewise, he has been curator of the exhibition Los Últimos de Filipinas: La gesta de Baler (1898-1899), in the city of Guadalajara.
